Active Development in Aid (ADA)
Delivering coordinated, multi-sectoral solutions to address urgent humanitarian needs, strengthen community systems, and promote inclusive, sustainable development across Somalia and the Horn of Africa.
ADA delivers a comprehensive portfolio of humanitarian and development programs that respond to both immediate needs and long-term priorities. Through targeted interventions in health, WASH, education, livelihoods, nutrition, and protection, the organization addresses the root causes of vulnerability while reinforcing local systems. Programs are designed using participatory approaches and grounded in evidence to ensure relevance, quality, and community ownership across diverse implementation contexts.
The organization’s methodology bridges emergency response with sustainable development by embedding resilience, accountability, and inclusivity across all activities. Whether delivering essential services to displaced populations or facilitating local capacity strengthening, ADA ensures that each initiative contributes to broader outcomes in social cohesion, institutional development, and self-reliance. Our interventions reflect a commitment to contextual relevance, technical rigor, and ethical delivery.
ADA’s programming framework is organized around eight thematic areas that represent the organization’s core competencies and strategic focus. These areas reflect the complexity of challenges faced by communities in fragile settings and provide a structured basis for delivering integrated, cross-cutting solutions. Each thematic area is informed by evidence, aligned with national and global development frameworks, and tailored to meet the evolving needs of the populations we serve.
