Active Development in Aid (ADA)

Research and Policy Engagement

Generating evidence, informing decisions, and shaping inclusive policy through applied research, community feedback, and knowledge exchange.

Evidence That Drives Action

Applied Research and Informed Policy

ADA integrates research and policy engagement across its programming to ensure interventions are grounded in evidence, locally informed, and strategically aligned with development priorities. In contexts marked by limited data and rapidly evolving needs, ADA uses research to fill information gaps, assess impact, and support adaptive programming that reflects the realities of vulnerable populations.

The organization undertakes needs assessments, impact evaluations, conflict and gender analysis, and baseline and endline studies to generate actionable insights. ADA also supports participatory research methods that elevate the voices of affected communities, ensuring that findings are context-specific and directly relevant to policy and program design. Results are shared with stakeholders to enhance transparency and influence systems-level decision-making.

Policy engagement is pursued through multi-stakeholder forums, technical working groups, and strategic advocacy that bridges grassroots realities with institutional processes. ADA contributes to the development of frameworks, guidelines, and sectoral standards in areas such as land governance, protection, food security, and social accountability. This work enables the translation of evidence into practice and strengthens the enabling environment for inclusive governance and effective service delivery.
